Call for Board of Directors & ACC Nominations

The Cibolo Ridge Property Owners Association is currently accepting nominations for the Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is an opportunity to contribute to the community, protect property values, and help guide the Association’s future.

Below is an overview of each Board position and its responsibilities.


Board of Directors – General Overview

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association. Board members are elected by homeowners and serve one-year terms. All positions are volunteer roles.

The Board is responsible for:

  • Enforcing the governing documents
  • Overseeing Association finances
  • Working with the management company and vendors
  • Making decisions in the best interest of the community as a whole

Board of Directors

General Overview

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association. Board members are elected by homeowners and serve one-year terms. All positions are volunteer roles.

President

Role: Leads the Association and the Board of Directors

Responsibilities include:

  • Presiding over Board meetings and the Annual Meeting
  • Providing leadership and direction for the Board
  • Serving as the primary liaison with the management company, legal counsel, and vendors
  • Executing contracts and official documents on behalf of the Association
  • Appointing committees and committee members, as needed
  • Ensuring Board decisions are implemented

Secretary

Role: Maintains Association records and documentation

Responsibilities include:

  • Recording accurate minutes of Board and Member meetings
  • Maintaining official Association records and governing documents
  • Ensuring proper notice of meetings is provided
  • Certifying official actions, votes, and records when required
  • Manages PayHOA & Website

Treasurer

Role: Oversees the financial health of the Association

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing financial statements and reports
  • Assisting with preparation of the annual budget
  • Monitoring Association expenses and reserves
  • Working with the management company and/or accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Reporting financial status to the Board and Members as appropriate

Architectural Control Committee (ACC)

Position Summary

The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is responsible for reviewing and approving architectural and exterior improvement requests within the community to ensure consistency with the Association’s governing documents and community standards.

ACC – General Overview

The ACC is a Board-appointed committee, not an elected body. Its purpose is to help maintain the aesthetic integrity, property values, and architectural harmony of the community.


ACC Member Responsibilities

ACC members are responsible for:

  • Reviewing architectural and exterior modification applications submitted by homeowners
  • Ensuring proposed improvements comply with:
    • The Declaration of Covenants
    • Architectural guidelines and standards
    • Recorded restrictions
  • Approving, approving with conditions, or denying applications
  • Providing written responses to applicants within required timeframes
  • Applying standards consistently and impartially across the community
  • Maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest


Eligibility Requirements

To ensure independence and avoid conflicts of interest:

  • ACC members may not be current Board members
  • ACC members may not be spouses or household members of a current Board member
